KUWAIT CITY, Jan 27: The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) announced on Monday the conclusion of two educational trips for outstanding male and female high school students to Indonesia and Uzbekistan, held as part of its “Be Among the Top 15” program in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

In a press statement, the Fund said the trips aim to broaden students’ knowledge and deepen their understanding of the cultures of countries with which the Fund cooperates, while highlighting Kuwait’s developmental and humanitarian role abroad.

The Fund noted that the girls’ delegation concluded its visit to Indonesia with a stop at the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Jakarta, where the students met with Ambassador Khaled Al-Yassin. The meeting focused on familiarizing the students with the Fund’s diplomatic role in strengthening bilateral relations between Kuwait and Indonesia.

The statement added that the delegation also met with Anindita Lestia, Advisor to the Indonesian Minister of Culture for Economic Affairs and Cultural Industries, who underscored the importance of cultural exchange and joint cooperation in supporting and enhancing relations between the two countries.

Meanwhile, the Fund said the students’ trip to Uzbekistan concluded with a visit to the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Tashkent, where the delegation met with Chargé d’Affaires Abdulrahman Al-Uthaina. He highlighted the importance of diplomatic work, stressing that embassies serve as a vital link in strengthening relations between nations.

The Fund recalled that the “Be Among the Outstanding” program was launched in 2010, under which two weeklong trips are organized annually for outstanding male and female students, in coordination with the Ministry of Education, to countries benefiting from the Fund’s development assistance. The initiative seeks to introduce students to key development projects supported by the Fund.

According to the statement, the program combines academic motivation, developmental awareness, and cultural exchange while helping introduce younger generations to the humanitarian role played by the State of Kuwait at regional and international levels.

The two trips, which began on January 16, aimed to encourage participating students to continue excelling academically. The visit to Indonesia included tours of development projects financed by the Kuwait Fund, as well as tourist, historical, and cultural landmarks. In Uzbekistan, the student delegation visited several major projects supported by the Fund, observed their positive impact, and toured prominent historical, cultural, and tourist sites.
