KUWAIT CITY, April 25: The Public Authority for Manpower is studying the issue of violators of the residence and labor laws to help them legalize their status; meaning helping them to renew their work permits and free them from the greed of human traffickers and at the same time solve the problem of shortage of manpower in the country.

This decision is very sound and is adopted by other Gulf countries. By doing so they have eliminated human trafficking and put an end to exploitation of workers by some sponsors who take money for issuing work permits. By the way, there is no sponsorship system in all countries of the world. The worker sponsors himself if he wishes to stay and work because he pays taxes to the state. By Zahed Matar, Arab Times
