KUWAIT CITY, Nov 23: The school team is scheduled to face its Libyan counterpart at 10:00 am in the consolation rounds of the Arab School Sports Championship in Cairo. In the event of a victory over Libya, the school’s blue team will contend for seventh and eighth place, while a loss will see them competing in the ninth and tenth match, following the tournament system that assigns these rankings to teams not qualifying for the final rounds after the fifth and sixth confrontations.

Faisal Al-Maqseed, President of the Kuwaiti School Sports and Higher Education Federation and head of the delegation highlighted the positive participation of Kuwait in the current edition of school sports. Despite stiff competition, particularly from the Egyptian and Saudi gold and silver medalists in swimming, Kuwait managed to secure several medals.

Al-Maqseed expressed optimism about the newly formed football team, emphasizing its promising potential. He underscored the federation’s commitment to implementing its strategy, focusing on nurturing talents within schools to support various national teams.

Al-Maqseed noted that the tournament serves as a platform to identify and encourage emerging talents, and he emphasized the positive indicator of full player commitment to the instructions provided by the technical and administrative bodies.

This commitment reflects a promising outlook for the new stage, centered on preparing young players for competition and achieving titles that will enhance Kuwait’s sports legacy.
