Online Issuance of Absence Permits for Domestic Workers

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 14: The Ministry of Interior has announced the inclusion of the online issuance of more than six months absence permit for domestic workers sponsored by citizens on the unified government application – Sahel, reports Al-Jarida daily. The ministry’s Public Relations and Security Media Department disclosed in a press statement that this is part of the ongoing efforts of the security institution to ease procedures for citizens.

It affirmed that the Human Resources and Information Technology Sector at the Information Systems General Department, in coordination with the Residence Affairs General Department, activated the online issuance of more than six months absence permit for domestic workers sponsored by citizens. The ministry explained that the citizen can issue an absence permit for the domestic worker for a period not exceeding the expiry of the residency in order to avoid canceling the residency of the worker if he is outside the country for more than six months.
