KUWAIT CITY, Sept 30: The General Traffic Department (GTD) outlined the procedures for removing a vehicle wheel clamp after payment of traffic fines as part of efforts to streamline and simplify procedures for vehicle owners, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

It explained that the process begins with paying the fine through the Sahel app or the Ministry of Interior’s application. Alternatively, individuals may visit GTD to complete the payment in accordance with approved procedures. After payment, the receipt must be clearly displayed on the vehicle’s windshield in preparation for the clamp’s removal.

The owner should then contact GTD via the dedicated WhatsApp number 99324092 to initiate the necessary procedures for removing the clamp. If the clamp falls off, the owner must immediately call the emergency number 112 and await the arrival of a traffic patrol, without attempting to move or tamper with the device. Legal action would be taken against anyone who breaks or damages the clamp

The General Traffic Department urged the public to comply with traffic rules, regulations, and instructions, thereby contributing to enhanced traffic safety and the protection of all road users.
