One tap to flag labor violations

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 10: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has launched the “Report” service through the Sahel application to enable citizens and residents to report violations within PAM’s jurisdiction online. The service is designed to facilitate the rapid detection and handling of violations. PAM Director of Public Relations and Media Mohammed Al-Muzaini said the new service allows citizens and residents to participate in monitoring and supporting government efforts to address negative practices that affect Kuwait’s reputation, as well as follow up on labor and humanitarian issues.

He emphasized that the “Report” service aligns with PAM’s strategy to expand community participation and strengthen cooperation between individuals and government entities, thereby supporting efforts to regulate the labor market. Meanwhile, PAM Public Relations and Media Supervisor Nadia Al-Hamad said the service was launched to coincide with the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons and allows citizens and residents to report violations through the Sahel application, thus supporting PAM’s oversight efforts and promoting compliance in the labor market. She stressed that whistleblowers’ information is kept strictly confidential and is not disclosed. Al-Hamad affirmed that specialized teams review and verify reports and take the necessary action under the direct supervision of PAM’s Director General, Engineer Rabab Al-Osaimi. She indicated that PAM has received numerous reports through the service, reflecting the community’s awareness of the importance of protecting the labor market and safeguarding rights.

In addition, Zainab Makki, Head of the Database Department at PAM, explained that the “Report” service can be accessed through “Sahel Individuals” by logging into PAM services, selecting the service, specifying the type of report, and providing a detailed description of the violation. Users can attach a photo of the violation and submit the report directly to PAM. She emphasized the importance of providing clear and accurate information to help specialized teams respond quickly and expedite inspection and follow-up procedures. Makki revealed that reported violations include those involving domestic worker recruitment offices, unlicensed workers and companies, as well as employing workers during the midday work ban from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
