KUWAIT CITY, May 17: In a dramatic late-night security and inspection crackdown, authorities uncovered an illegal underground-style food operation hidden inside a residential property in Kuwait’s Bneid Al-Gar area, officials said.

The operation was carried out by the Capital Governorate Security Directorate’s Support Patrols in coordination with Kuwait Municipality and the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition as part of intensified nationwide campaigns targeting violators and illegal activities.

Authorities said the raided site was being used simultaneously as an unlicensed food warehouse, restaurant and workers’ accommodation within the fenced setback area of a house. During the raid, officials found several expatriates, delivery motorcycles, and cooking and food preparation equipment allegedly being used to prepare and distribute food in violation of health and municipal regulations.

Inspection teams documented multiple violations, including operating a food establishment without a license and illegally selling and distributing food products. Municipal authorities immediately issued removal notices for the site and the motorcycles found inside, while those responsible were detained and referred to the competent authorities for legal action.

The Ministry of Interior stressed that security and inspection campaigns will continue across all governorates in cooperation with relevant agencies, warning that authorities will show zero tolerance toward violations that threaten public safety, health standards and public order.
