RIYADH, Aug 28: Saudi club Al-Hazem officially announced the signing of Syrian striker Omar Al-Somah, just hours ahead of the start of the 2025-2026 Roshn Saudi Pro League season.
Al-Somah had left the Saudi league at the end of last season after a brief spell with Al-Orouba, before moving to Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca, where he played in two matches during the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
This will be Al-Somah’s third stint in the Saudi Pro League. He previously starred for Al-Ahli, winning multiple league titles and setting historic records, before his short-term move to Al-Orouba last season. Al-Somah is also the all-time leading scorer of the Saudi Pro League with 154 goals.
The first round of the 2025-2026 Roshn League continues with key fixtures, including Al-Hilal vs Al-Riyadh, Al-Shabab vs Al-Khaleej, and Al-Taawoun vs Al-Nassr. The opening round concludes tomorrow with Al-Fateh vs Al-Fayha, Al-Akhdoud vs Al-Ittihad, and Al-Qadsia vs Al-Najma.
