MUSCAT, Oct 9: Oman announced Friday closure of all public places and shops from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. starting next Sunday, due to coronavirus (COVID-19).

A supreme committee was tasked with tackling developments resulting from COVID-19 pandemic and has set guidelines.

The commission, in a fresh statement broadcast by the official Oman News Agency today, declared, "Prohibition of movement and lockdown of all public places and commercial outlets from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. every night from Sunday October 11 to Saturday October 24 2020.

Moreover, there will be ban on the use of beaches till further notice."
Furthermore, there will be re-closure of some activities (businesses) that were previously opened but failed to stick to the conditions set by the committee.

The departments concerned will later announce details of such activities. Names and pictures of offenders who violate the instructions will be published in the media, it added (Kuna)
