MUSCAT, July 12: Oman has summoned Iran's ambassador to lodge a formal protest over drone incidents targeting sites in the governorates of Musandam and Al Batinah, the Foreign Ministry said.

His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Hashil Al Muslahy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Administrative and Financial Affairs, summoned Iranian Ambassador Mousa Fereidoun and handed him an official protest note regarding the drone attacks.

During the meeting, Sheikh Khalid expressed the Sultanate's dismay over what he described as irresponsible acts, stressing the importance of respecting state sovereignty, maintaining good-neighborly relations, refraining from interference in the internal affairs of other countries, and upholding the customs and ethical values that bind the two neighboring nations and their peoples.

The Omani statement did not provide further details about the drone incidents or any reported damage or casualties.
