On the other hand, Omani Ambassador to Kuwait Dr. Saleh Al-Kharousi praised the close and distinguished historical relations between the two countries, which enjoy special care and wise guidance under their respective political leaderships.

He said: “Kuwaiti-Omani relations are deeply rooted and fraternal. The leaderships of both countries have taken political, economic and cultural steps, which reinforced the paths of bilateral cooperation. This year witnessed important steps on the path of political cooperation, including the fraternal visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Sabah to Oman on Oct 14, heading a highlevel delegation, and his meeting with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.

During this meeting, cordial and positive discussions took place, reflecting the depth of the firmly established fraternal relations between the two countries. They also talked about ways to support the course of cooperation in various fields, especially in the economic field, in order to contribute to developing coordination and integration on the commercial and investment levels to serve mutual interests and achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples for further progress and prosperity.”

He disclosed that “relations between the two countries are witnessing growth at different levels, particularly in the economic field, as Kuwait is one of the most important investing countries in the Sultanate, with investments valued at about $1.362 billion this year, placing it first among the Gulf and Arab countries and third globally after the United Kingdom and the United States. The volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached around $5 billion last year, an increase of nearly 120 percent compared to the previous year.”

On the occasion, Al-Kharousi asserted “on this National Day, we celebrate the journey of our beloved nation and the remarkable achievements it has been witnessing since the launching of the blessed renaissance in 1970, whose foundations were laid by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said – may Allah have mercy on him.” He explained that the National Day is a celebration of the rich history of Oman, as well as the founding of Al Busaidi dynasty on Nov 20, 1744.

“At the time, the founder, Ahmed bin Said Al Busaidi, unified the nation and established the foundations of the modern Omani State based on sovereignty, unity and dignity,” he added. He affirmed that Oman continues its journey under the leadership of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq with a renewed vision, which balances tradition and modernization, while looking forward to a more prosperous and sustainable future.

He disclosed that this year, significant steps were taken to enhance the efficiency of public spending, increase the attractiveness of the investment environment in the Sultanate, and sign international agreements to support innovation and the business environment. He indicated that Oman is confidently moving towards achieving its national priorities and strategies, which promote a balance between development and the environment, enshrine the values of justice and tolerance, and instill these values in its citizens. He said Oman established a firm diplomatic approach based on neutrality, balance, dialogue and respect for the United Nations Charter and international law. He called for prioritizing wisdom, containing escalation in the region, and adopting peaceful means to resolve conflicts without interfering in the internal affairs of other states.

He reaffirmed the unwavering support of Oman for the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent State within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international resolutions. He concluded “the Sultanate urges the international community to work diligently to achieve the two-state solution, as it is just and the only path toward establishing a comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East. Anything less is merely a temporary solution that does not serve the collective interest or attain the desired stability.”
