MUSCAT, June 19: Oman will impose an overnight curfew, from 8 pm to 4 am, as of Sunday in response to "unprecedented and severe pressure" on medical staff due to the increasing spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The decision bans the movement of individuals and vehicles and forces the closure of public spaces and commercial establishments, Oman's Supreme Committee told state news agency, ONA. It will remain in place until further notice.
Authorities recorded 2,015 daily cases of the deadly virus in the past 24 hours, raising the caseload to 242,723, while 35 victims succumbed to the virus as the death toll increased to 2,626.(KUNA)
