Oman Calls for Respect of International Law, Seeks Restoration of Navigation in Hormuz

MUSCAT, July 14: Oman on Tuesday called on all parties to respect international law governing navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, reaffirming its commitment to restoring freedom of navigation through the strategic waterway.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said Oman would continue its transparent and neutral cooperation with all parties in an effort to ease tensions and safeguard maritime security.

The ministry also stressed that the Sultanate remains fully committed to its obligations under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), emphasizing the importance of ensuring the safe and uninterrupted passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
