Oman Busts Fake Whiskey Factory Inside Two Villas, 2 Asians Arrested

MUSCAT, Oct 28: Omani authorities have raided an illegal factory producing counterfeit alcoholic beverages and forging tax marks inside two residential villas in the Wilayat of Bausher.

The Compliance and Risk Assessment Department carried out the operation after uncovering the conversion of the two villas into a facility for manufacturing counterfeit alcoholic drinks, pasting branded liquor labels and forging tax marks.

Two workers of Asian nationality were arrested during the raid.

The case highlights authorities’ efforts to crack down on illegal manufacturing activities and the production and distribution of counterfeit alcoholic beverages in Oman.
