Oldest church in Kuwait (Roman Catholic Church) in Ahmadi area damaged by rain

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 15: The oldest church in Kuwait – The Holy Family Cathedral (a Roman Catholic Church) in Ahmadi area – was damaged by the torrential rains in Kuwait last week. The side wall of the Church of the Lady of Arabia has also collapsed, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The ceiling of the church hall has collapsed, and the furniture has been damaged. The Catholic Church of the “Lady of the Island” was the mother church built in 1950 by Father Ubaldo Stela. The foundation stone was laid in 1956. Following renovation, the church reopened in 2001.
