Officer faces charges for running over traffic police

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 26: The Ministry of Interior has initiated legal action against the officer working for the Ministry of Interior (earlier it was mentioned he is working for the Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences) who had surrendered to the Mangaf Police Station three hours after hitting a traffic policeman with his vehicle because the latter had issued him a traffic citation, reports Al-Rai daily.

The incident happened when the victim was checking on a traffic accident at the Mangaf and Sabah roundabouts and one of the drivers (the suspect) tried to bypass the instructions of the traffic officers, got behind the wheel, started the engine and stepped on the gas pedal and in the process he hit the traffic man with his vehicle.

As a result the traffic policeman fell to the ground and got bruises and injury to the knee.
