KUWAIT CITY, Mar 6: As part of its ongoing efforts to combat drugs and uphold public safety, the Ministry of Interior of Kuwait announced the arrest of a suspect, who was serving as an officer within the Ministry, in the Al-Uyun area for possession of psychotropic substances. The operation, conducted by the General Directorate of Drug Control, also recovered a quantity of chemical drugs, sums of money, and other materials intended for trafficking and personal use.

During the search of the suspect’s residence, authorities heard a cry for help from a room. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the suspect and his brothers had held his sister captive for approximately 10 months. The room had been sealed with bricks to prevent her escape. All brothers present at the scene were detained and referred to the competent authorities for legal action.

The Ministry of Interior emphasized that maintaining law and security is the responsibility of the State, and no one is permitted to take the law into their own hands. It reaffirmed that Kuwait is a country of law and institutions, where legal measures are applied equally to all, and anyone violating the law or infringing on the rights of others will face firm and deterrent action.
