Nurse ‘helping’ ill evade check

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 17: Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have arrested a nurse for injecting patients with a kind of drug which makes it impossible to detect hepatitis C in patients, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The daily added, this was done just before the recipients of this injection went for medical tests — a must to obtain residence permit in Kuwait. Investigations conducted by securitymen revealed the nurse and her husband used their apartment in Hawalli to receive customers and charged KD 250 for each injection.

The nurse and her husband were arrested after police set a trap and sent a police agent. Police have seized from the couple syringes and medicine. Meanwhile, police have arrested a Kuwaiti for possessing drugs, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The daily added, the man was also wanted by law on financial charges and had been sentenced in absentia to five years imprisonment for drug abuse. Police have also seized from the man a cigarette filled with hashish and sachets of meth.
