Number of employees protest against weekend work, timing

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 18: For the second time in a week, a number of employees of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Community Development organized a two-hour demonstration in protest against the timing of work and for forcing them to work on weekends and not paying them shift allowance, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The demonstration at the Family Welfare Department in the Ahmadi Governorate were seem holding placards were requesting working hours to be reduced to one hour 15 minutes to avoid road congestion and lack of drivers to drive them home from work. They were also demanding to cancel Friday and Saturday work, since the instructions were issued orally. It is reported a number of departments are expected tp participate in the strike on a daily basis for two hours inside their offices as of today.
