Preparations on to conduct postponed exams

KUWAIT CITY, March 2: With the opening of academic institutions in Egypt and resumption of the first semester exams that were postponed due to the corona outbreak, Kuwaitis studying in Egypt are now preparing for the postponed exams and the start of the second semester, reports Al-Qabas daily. This has prompted the National Union of Kuwaiti Students (NUKS) in Egypt to demand for the vaccination of Kuwaiti students there.

Head of the union Ahmed Al-Shammari told the daily that they sent an official letter to the Cultural Attaché in the Embassy of Kuwait in Cairo requesting that corona vaccine should be made available to the Kuwaiti students, taking into consideration a large number of them want to be vaccinated. “Many students could not get vaccinated in Kuwait due to their commitments and exams in Egypt. Therefore, we asked the embassy to lay down a clear plan for the vaccination of students free of charge, just like the diplomats and local employees at the embassy. The plan is to vaccinate the diplomats and embassy employees soon. The plan should include all students who want to get vaccinated,”

Al-Shammari added. He affirmed the students’ exams will be conducted in the traditional manner as per the schedule of each university and college. Despite the calls for electronic exams, the Supreme Universities Council agreed on holding the exams traditionally, he revealed. He confirmed that the Kuwaiti students in Egypt are in good condition and that life in Egypt is normal, taking into account the health regulations aimed at curbing the spread of corona. He added the Kuwaiti students in Egypt celebrated the National Day at the union’s headquarters in a symbolic manner – without gatherings, while wishing for the resumption of direct flights between the two countries in order to reduce expenses and address a number of travel related problems.
