KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: The General Traffic Department has introduced a new mechanism allowing vehicle and motorcycle owners to carry out exhaust system repairs only after obtaining an official repair permit from the Technical Inspection Departments, as part of efforts to enhance traffic services and streamline procedures.

Under the new system, exhaust repair forms will be issued to vehicles and motorcycles found to be emitting excessive noise or violating approved technical specifications. The measure aims to speed up repair processes at authorized workshops and dealerships while ensuring full compliance with technical standards. After completing the repairs, owners are required to return to the Technical Inspection Department for a follow-up inspection to confirm that the violation has been rectified. Authorities said the initiative will improve service quality, enhance operational efficiency, and help reduce noise pollution on the roads.
