KUWAIT CITY, Mar 18: Jazeera Airways announced the resumption of its flights to all destinations in India through Qaisumah Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, offering a crucial link for the large Indian community in Kuwait amid the ongoing regional airspace restrictions.
H.E Paramita Tripathi told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the temporary closure of Kuwaiti airspace since February 28 had caused significant difficulties for Indian residents, particularly those needing to travel abroad. She praised Jazeera Airways for its proactive and professional response and thanked the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and the Ministries of External Affairs and Civil Aviation in New Delhi for supporting the arrangement.
Jazeera Airways CEO, Barathan Pasupathi said the flights were resumed to meet the strong demand from thousands of Indians seeking to reunite with their families. The Vande Bharat project reconnects Kuwait with six Indian cities (Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Bengaluru) via Qaisumah Airport, marking the first commercial air link between Kuwait and India since the temporary suspension of operations at Kuwait International Airport. Passengers will be transported by bus from Kuwait to Qaisumah Airport to board their flights, with return journeys following the same route.
Barathan Pasupathi also highlighted Jazeera Airways’ ongoing operations to other destinations, including Alexandria, Assiut, Cairo, and Luxor in Egypt; Al Ain, Amman, Colombo, and Istanbul, ensuring continuity of essential travel routes. Passengers can book flights and view schedules via the airline’s website or mobile app.
The airline received appreciation from the Indian Embassy in Kuwait and the Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC) for facilitating travel and serving the Indian community during this challenging period.
