KUWAIT CITY, Nov 9: Equestrian talent Nouriya Al-Sabah of Sahara Equestrian Club made a strong impression in her debut dressage competition, turning heads with her outstanding performance at the Kuwait Equestrian Federation Championship held at the Sahara Equestrian Resort, which attracted a large turnout of riders from clubs across the country.
Al-Sabah commented, “This was my first experience in dressage, and it was both exciting and enjoyable. I managed to secure a top position in the Federation championship.”
She highlighted that dressage forms the foundation of equestrian sports, while noting the growing popularity of show jumping competitions, particularly in the beginner 70 cm and 90 cm categories.
Nouriya cited Australian champion Edwina Tops-Alexander as her international role model, and locally she looks up to riders Ali Al-Kharafi and Yara Al-Hunaydi. She also praised coach Sabah Ali Al-Sabah for his dedication and support for both male and female riders.
She added, “I train daily at Sahara Equestrian Resort and actively participate in competitions. My goal is to compete internationally and proudly represent Kuwait at the highest level.”
