Noose awaits son who killed mama

KUWAIT CITY, April 6: The Criminal Court on Monday sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen, born in 1988, to death for murdering his 75-year-old mother by slitting her throat inside the family home in Saad Al-Abdullah.

Case files indicate that the Operations Unit at the Ministry of Interior received information from a female citizen, stating that her brother killed their mother and then fled. Jahra security patrols, forensic investigators, medical examiners, and a public prosecutor then rushed to the scene of the crime. The victim was transported to the hospital by her daughter, but she succumbed to her severe injuries. The deputy public prosecutor ordered the transfer of the victim’s body to the Forensic Medicine Department. Security forces apprehended the defendant after a chase in Saad Al-Abdullah.

The murder weapon, which had traces of blood, was found in his possession. He was referred to the investigation authorities. During the investigation, the accused confessed to the crime, admitting that he planned to murder his mother due to family disputes. He revealed that before committing the crime, he purchased a knife and a sharp instrument at a shop in Jahra Industrial Area. He returned home and murdered his mother in her bedroom. The accused was remanded in custody pending further investigation, while the Criminal Investigation Department was assigned to conduct interrogations. The case was referred to the Criminal Court, which imposed the death sentence on the accused.
