TAMPA, May 4: United States Central Command has denied Iranian reports claiming that a US Navy vessel was struck by missiles near the Strait of Hormuz, stating that no American warship was hit in the incident.

Iranian state media and IRGC-linked outlets had earlier alleged that two missiles targeted a US warship near Jask Island after it reportedly ignored warnings while approaching the strategic maritime zone.

Rejecting these claims, CENTCOM said US naval forces remain fully operational and that no damage or strike against any US vessel occurred. The command reiterated that its forces are continuing operations under “Project Freedom,” aimed at supporting maritime security and enforcing a naval blockade on Iranian ports.

The Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy chokepoint, has seen heightened military tensions in recent weeks amid competing claims of naval incidents and escalating security operations by both sides. U.S. officials emphasized that their focus remains on maintaining freedom of navigation and regional stability despite the rising rhetoric and conflicting reports.
