KUWAIT CITY, July 8: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has officially denied recent reports circulating on social media that domestic workers must obtain an exit permit through the "Sahel" application prior to traveling. In a press statement issued, the Authority clarified that no such requirement exists, and the claims about mandatory procedures for sponsors to issue exit permits through the "Sahel" app are entirely false.
The clarification came in response to misinformation suggesting that sponsors are required to use the app’s “Public Authority for Manpower” section, select “Issuing an Exit Permit,” and specify a travel window beginning one day before departure and extending one or two days after. The false instructions also claimed that certificates must be uploaded to activate the permit.
PAM stressed that no official procedure has been launched or announced regarding exit permits for domestic workers. The Authority urged the public to rely on information released through official government channels and avoid circulating unverified rumors.
The "Sahel" app remains a central platform for many official services in Kuwait, but PAM emphasized that exit procedures for domestic workers have not been added to its offerings.
