KUWAIT CITY, Oct 13: The Government Communication Center issued guidelines on dog ownership and care, requiring owners to obtain a license and attach a metal tag bearing the dog’s serial number, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The center urged owners to take their dogs to a veterinary facility for examination and rabies vaccination, emphasizing the need for annual booster shots. It highlighted the importance of using a muzzle and leash when walking dogs in public areas and on roads. Owners must also notify the veterinary center if a dog contracts rabies or is suspected of having the disease. Furthermore, the center stressed that the carcasses of animals infected with or suspected of having rabies must not be disposed of or buried. It noted that violations of these regulations are punishable by imprisonment for up to one month, a fine of up to KD 30, or both penalties.
