KUWAIT CITY, June 30: Kuwait Club continued its dominance by winning the 2025–2026 Zain Premier League title, taking its overall tally to 21 championships and securing a fifth consecutive crown. The team also completed an unbeaten league campaign, going 23 matches without defeat, with 15 wins and 8 draws.
In the final round of the championship group’s fifth stage, Qadsia held Kuwait Club to a 0–0 draw, while Kazma defeated Salmiya and Al-Arabi beat Al-Fahaheel by identical 3–0 scorelines.
Kuwait Club finished top of the standings with 53 points, followed by Al-Arabi in second place with 39 points, ahead of Qadsia in third on goal difference. Kazma came fourth with 38 points, Salmiya fifth with 37 points, and Al-Fahaheel sixth with 22 points.
As a result, Kuwait Club qualified for the AFC Champions League 2, Al-Arabi moved into the AFC Champions League 2 play-offs, Qadsia earned a spot in the AFC Challenge League, and Kazma secured qualification for the Gulf Champions League.
Kuwait Club chairman Khaled Al-Ghanim said the team is “fortunate” to have followed a structured development roadmap in place since 2002, adding that the club is now reaping the rewards of that long-term vision.
He highlighted that going two full seasons unbeaten is a major achievement, stressing that the priority remains staying at the top and preparing strongly for the next campaign.
On the future of Montenegrin coach Nebojša Jovićević, Al-Ghanim confirmed he will not continue with the team. He praised the coach’s efforts, saying he “did not fall short,” performed well, and was among the best coaches to work with the club, playing a key role in their success.
Coach Nebojša expressed his delight at winning the title, noting that clinching the championship five rounds before the end is no easy feat.
Player Mishari Ghanam described the “White” as finishing the season with a golden title, praising the squad’s efforts and the strong support from the board.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Al-Dhafiri said the triumph was the result of collective effort throughout the season and expressed hope for more success in the coming years.
