A working team that monitors the side effects of Covid-19 vaccines in the Ministry of Health confirmed it is constantly following up on all local and international developments related to the safety of Covid-19 vaccines. Regarding the temporary suspension of AstraZeneka-Oxford in Denmark and Austria to verify some cases of blood clots that have been detected, the team clarified that this procedure is routine and is a precautionary measure taken by health authorities in the event of any unexpected symptoms until the completion of the verification process and cause of these events.

The health authorities in Denmark and Austria and the committee concerned with following up on the safety of vaccines in the European Union announced that until now there is no evidence or causal relationship between the vaccine and the cases of blood clots that have been detected.

The authorities stressed that so far, no cases of blood clots or any deaths related to Covid-19 vaccines have been detected in Kuwait, noting that a working team monitors the side effects of the Covid-19 vaccine by vigorous and continuous follow- up of the safety of vaccines and assessing the side effects that are reported, followed up, and verified according to global standards. The specialized team reassured all citizens and residents that up to now the side effects that have been reported for the Pfizer and Oxford vaccines were expected and not dangerous side effects.
