KUWAIT CITY, Jan 28: Kuwait's Ministry of Commerce and Industry escalated its crackdown on illicit trade, seizing counterfeit goods worth thousands from two Salmiya shops (1,828 fake branded items total), shutting down unlicensed garages illegally repairing accident-damaged vehicles without permits, and raiding a rogue warehouse stuffed with expired medical supplies—including 700 cartons of gloves, 1,000 cartons each of hoses, meters, and wraps, plus masks, blades, gauze, adhesives, and 400 mattress quilts—along with date-fudging devices supplying shady clinics. Director Faisal Al-Ansari vowed no mercy for threats to consumer safety and security, with all sites shuttered and legal action underway in coordination with the Ministry of Interior. Relentless inspections continue nationwide.
