No increase of private schools’ fees – Legal action will be taken against violators

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 23: Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Hamed Al-Azmi said the decision on not increasing fees in all private schools – Arab, Indian, Pakistani, British, German, American, French and bilingual schools – remains in effect for academic year 2019/2020, reports Al-Shahed daily.

Responding to a parliamentary query about private schools subject to ministerial decisions, Al-Azmi confirmed the Financial Affairs Department at the Private Education Directorate ensures these strictly comply with the decision.

He said regular visits are conducted to make sure these schools do not add any extra fees to the specified amount, warning that legal action will be taken against those proven to have violated ministerial decision number 18/2019.

Meanwhile, Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Hammed Al-Azmi has issued a decision appointing Lulwa Al-Mulla as Director of Financial Affairs after she successfully passed interviews of the concerned committee, reports Al-Anba daily.
