No Food Shortage in Kuwait, Authorities Ensure Round-the-Clock Monitoring

KUWAIT CITY, March 29: The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition has confirmed that food supplies in the local market are sufficient, assuring that operations are running smoothly despite heightened monitoring measures across the supply chain.

Officials said inspection teams are working around the clock to receive and examine incoming shipments to ensure uninterrupted flow into the market while maintaining strict safety standards.

Deputy Director General for Community Nutrition, Dr. Shaima Al-Asfour, stated that laboratories and inspection outlets are operating 24/7 to verify food safety and compliance with specifications, ensuring public health protection and market stability.

Meanwhile, Deputy Director General for Inspection and Control Dr. Saud Al-Jalal reiterated that food availability remains stable, adding that monitoring and inspection campaigns have been intensified across markets, cooperative societies, storage facilities, and food factories.

He said the measures are being carried out under directives from the Ministry of State for Development and Sustainability, with the aim of ensuring food safety and protecting consumers across Kuwait. (KUNA)
