KUWAIT CITY: For the third day in a row, the Compensation Authority continued to receive complaints from citizens whose lives are affected by the recent heavy rains that lashed the country and the claims vary from real estate to damaged vehicles, furniture and others, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In the meantime, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Minister of Economic Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh has revealed that the complaints will be studied by five special teams which have been formed for this purpose.

Al-Sabeeh said in a television statement there damage to the property due to water seeping into the house as a result of faulty or damaged roof will not be considered because this issue concerns the owner of the property and the construction of the house.

Compensation will be paid for those who are affected only by rainwater collected on the streets and then entering into the homes and causing damage.

Al-Sabeeh said if the property is damaged, the landlord or his representative must submit the complaint and not the tenant, even if the damage is on the leased vehicles, the application from the lessee is not accepted.
