No Casualties: Subiya Power Plant Fire Contained, Drone Parts Discovered

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 9: The Ministry confirms a limited fire occurred this morning in one fuel tank at the Subiya Power and Water Distillation Plant. Minister Dr. Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizeem, accompanied by Undersecretary Dr. Adel Mohammed Al-Zamil and Assistant Undersecretary for Power Plants and Water Distillation Engineer Haitham Al-Ali, conducted a comprehensive on-site inspection to assess the technical situation.

During the visit, the Minister examined the incident site and received a detailed briefing from technical leaders and specialists about the fire's circumstances and the immediate response procedures followed. Drone fragments were discovered at the fire's origin, and security authorities have launched a full investigation. The security, safety, and emergency teams effectively contained the blaze in record time using approved protocols, with no human casualties reported.

The Minister also followed up on ongoing technical inspections and evaluations by specialized teams to verify the safety of all connected units and equipment, ensuring the plant's continued high-efficiency operation within Kuwait's electricity and water production system. Dr. Al-Mukhaizeem commended the national engineering, technical, and operational teams for their swift and professional response, which successfully contained the incident and maintained stability across the electricity and water networks nationwide.
