Nigerian Duo Sentenced Up to 7 Years for Mahboula Exchange Office Heist in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, July 20: The Second Chamber of the Court of Appeal has upheld prison sentences against members of a Nigerian gang convicted in connection with the robbery of an exchange office in Mahboula.

The court, headed by Counselor Nasr Salem Al-Haid and including Counselors Mutaib Al-Aradhi and Saud Al-Sane, confirmed the seven-year imprisonment sentences for the first four defendants and upheld a six-month jail term for the fifth defendant.

According to the case filed by the Public Prosecution, the first four defendants were involved in stealing money from the exchange office, with the second defendant using a fake firearm to threaten employees, while the third and fourth defendants carried out the theft with assistance from the first defendant. The fifth defendant was accused of helping plan the crime, concealing stolen items, and providing support related to the proceeds of the robbery.
