LONDON, Jul 7: Nigel Farage has resigned as a member of the UK Parliament and announced he will contest his seat again in a special election, saying he wants voters to judge him amid growing controversy over financial donations.

Farage, who represented Clacton-on-Sea, announced his YouTube channel on Tuesday as scrutiny intensifies over the source of his personal wealth. The issue is also being investigated by the UK Parliament's standards watchdog.

Announcing his decision on Tuesday, Farage denied any misconduct, saying, "I have done nothing wrong" and insisting he had "not broken the law." He said he wanted the people of Clacton-on-Sea to judge his actions and vowed to "fight to win" the upcoming by-election.

Farage's resignation comes as the UK Parliament's standards watchdog investigates his financial interests, adding fresh political uncertainty just weeks after the resignation of former Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
