LOS ANGELES, Nov 2, (Agencies): Director Nick Vallelonga can’t hide his enthusiasm for the upcoming movie “That’s Amore!” starring John Travolta and Katherine Heigl.

Vallelonga offered an update on the musical romantic comedy, sharing that Travolta and Heigl are a fantastic duo in the film. The story revolves around Nick (played by Travolta), a never-married man, and Patty, a woman whose personal life has kept her from dating until they cross paths.

“John and Katherine are fantastic together, and during rehearsals, they had so much chemistry,” Vallelonga, aged 64, expressed about the film’s progress. He added, “We’re not breaking into big production numbers, but I wanted to try something a little different. We’ve recorded about seven songs so far with a full orchestra, and [Travolta is] just a magical person.”

Vallelonga also teased a special musical moment in the film, saying, “One of the numbers is a real throwback to Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly, and we’ve got the whole cast singing ‘That’s Amore’ at one point. I think people are going to love it.”

Vallelonga, a two-time Oscar winner for his work on “Green Book” in 2019, mentioned that he had always envisioned Travolta in the role he’s playing in “That’s Amore!” He spoke highly of Travolta, citing their previous collaboration on a different film and his admiration for Travolta’s work.

“That’s Amore!” also boasts an impressive cast including Christopher Walken, Talia Shire, William Fichtner, D.B. Sweeney, and Drea de Mateo.

Vallelonga emphasized the film’s aim to bring joy and laughter during challenging times, saying, “During rough times, folks need to laugh, and they need to get out and enjoy themselves. That’s what this movie is all about. It’s an old-fashioned, old-school film for all audiences, ages 8 to 80. It’s a little risky to do a musical, but we’ve got Travolta, so I’m not too worried.”
