KUWAIT CITY, Sept 8: The Ministry of Health intends to implement a new quarantine mechanism for health sector workers who are in contact with coronavirus patients, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a source from the ministry.

The source explained that if the swab test result is negative, the medical staff — doctors, nurses, technicians and health inspectors — are isolated at home for seven days starting from the date of the last contact with the corona patient and then they will resume work. If the result is positive, they are isolated for a period of 10 days from the date of the swab test, the source said. On the other hand, the ministry is currently developing a mechanism to determine the employment status of its workers who have been unable to return due to the coronavirus crisis
