KUWAIT CITY, May 16: The Ministry of Health announced on Thursday the opening and commissioning of a fully equipped specialized pediatric surgery ward at Jahra Hospital, reports Al- Seyassah daily. Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Shammari, Head of the Medical Staff, explained in a press release that the ward, located in Tower A, includes various pediatric surgical specialties, providing a comprehensive treatment environment that addresses the medical and psychological needs of children. The ward covers general pediatric surgery, urology, otolaryngology (ENT), and ophthalmology. Meanwhile, Dr. Yaqoub Jaafar, Head of the Pediatric Surgery Unit at Jahra Hospital, highlighted that the ward’s proximity to pediatric departments facilitates rapid coordination with pediatricians and simplifies postoperative follow-up care for children.
He explained that the unit serves pediatric patients from across Kuwait and includes 24 beds equipped according to advanced medical standards. The design of the ward prioritizes a supportive psychological environment for children and is staffed by trained nurses experienced in pediatric care and in addressing both the medical and emotional needs of young patients. The Ministry of Health affirmed its continued support for developing specialized healthcare services and providing advanced treatment environments that enhance the quality of care and achieve the highest standards of medical service.
