KUWAIT CITY, Oct 28: The Kuwait Municipality has installed prominent signage at Souq Al-Mubarakiya, one of the country’s oldest and most popular traditional markets, to remind visitors of essential public guidelines aimed at maintaining cleanliness, safety, and order in the bustling marketplace. The sign, written in both Arabic and English, welcomes visitors while listing a series of cautions — including prohibitions against sitting on the floor, moving chairs from their designated spots, no pets allowed, no bicycles, scooters, or motorcycles allowed, and smoking within the market area is not permitted. These rules reflect the Municipality’s efforts to preserve the market’s cultural charm while ensuring a comfortable environment for both shoppers and vendors.
Additionally, the regulations extend to banning the entry of bicycles, motorcycles, and scooters, as well as pets, in order to minimize congestion and potential hazards in the crowded lanes of the market. The new signage highlights the Municipality’s ongoing commitment to visitor safety, cleanliness, and community order at Al-Mubarakiya — a landmark that remains a symbol of Kuwait’s heritage and a favorite destination for residents and tourists alike.
