New MoH dress code takes effect

KUWAIT CITY, July 27: The Ministry of Health announced on Sunday the implementation of the decision issued by Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Abdulwahab Al-Awadhi regarding regulations governing public appearance, official attire, and professional dress and uniforms in both the public and private sectors, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The ministry explained that the implementation comes six months after the issuance of the ministerial decree approving the executive regulations for these requirements. The regulations aim to strengthen professional identity within healthcare facilities, standardize professional appearance according to the nature of each job category, and allow service recipients to easily identify members of the healthcare team.

The regulations also seek to reinforce institutional discipline, improve the work environment, support the quality of healthcare services, and respect public decency and societal diversity. Separately, the Ministry of Health announced on Sunday the opening of registration for scholarships and study leaves for the 2026/2027 academic year for interested ministry employees. In a press release, the ministry explained that the announcement targets paramedical professionals, pharmacists, and administrative staff.

It covers more than 20 major specializations and around 170 sub-specializations for holders of diplomas, bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and PhDs. The ministry clarified that the registration period began on Sunday, July 26, and will continue until Sunday, August 2. The ministry emphasized that the advertisement aims to support the development of national talent and enable employees to advance their academic and professional careers, contributing to improved healthcare service efficiency and the sustainability of the healthcare system.
