KUWAIT CITY, Nov 16: The Global Training Portal Conference witnessed the active participation of the Kuwait Fund for Development, collaborating with the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development. Themed "Integrating individuals with disabilities as a sustainable development goal in the domains of media, health, and entertainment within the New Kuwait Vision 2035," the conference aimed to foster the inclusion of persons with disabilities into society through diverse activities. Taking place at Kuwait University from November 13 to 15, the conference drew attendees from local, regional, and international spheres. In tandem with its conference involvement, the Kuwait Fund showcased its dedication at the accompanying exhibition, featuring its publications and media releases that underscore its developmental contributions at local, regional, and international levels.
Kifaya Al-Alban, the Director of the International Training Portal, highlighted the conference's mission to advocate for the challenges faced by people with disabilities. The goal is to enhance their lives and those of their families by fostering collaboration across various sectors in civil society. The overarching objective is to create a more inclusive Kuwaiti society that eliminates discrimination against individuals with disabilities, aligning with the principles of the New Kuwait Vision 2035. Al-Alban underscored the significance of the partnership with the Kuwait Fund, citing over a decade of collaboration. This enduring partnership has played a crucial role in achieving Goal No. 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on strengthening global partnerships. As part of its social responsibility, the Kuwait Fund remains committed to supporting individuals with special needs in Kuwait. This commitment extends to addressing the importance of cultivating media awareness regarding people with disabilities and ensuring the provision of health services tailored to their specific needs.
