‘Garbage containers don’t blend with cultural scene’

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 18: The garbage containers in Mubarakiya market will be replaced with advanced electric garbage compressors, which were designed using the latest technological systems, reports Annahar daily quoting Governor of the Capital Governorate Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. According to the governor, the above-mentioned garbage compressors have the ability to reduce emissions and odor, and they do not destroy the aesthetic view as they can be placed in closed areas to maintain the general appearance of the market.

“These compressors will reduce emissions and odor by 80 percent,” the governor added. He made the statement on the sidelines of his recent visit in the market, along with Deputy Director General for the Capital and Jahra Governorates Sector Affairs at Kuwait Municipality Eng Faisal Sadiq, Media Advisor to the CEO of the company in charge of the market Haitham Al-Anjari, Director of the Public Sanitation and Road Occupancy Department Meshaal Al-Azmi and a general superintendent.

The governor confirmed that all garbage containers in the market will be replaced before 2020 ends. He revealed the visit was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the State Ministry for Municipality Affairs represented by the Public Sanitation and Road Occupancy Department, and the company in charge of the market. During the visit, the officials discussed the needs of the market; particularly the replacement of the garbage containers because they are not suitable for the cultural scene.
