Health Minister Dr Ahmed Al-Awadhi cutting the ribbon during the inauguration of the new dialysis center.

KUWAIT CITY, May 27: In a press statement during the inauguration of a new dialysis center, the Minister of Health emphasized that this opening aligns with the Ministry's strategy to enhance health and medical services across the country. The initiative aims to provide the best healthcare to citizens, ensuring comprehensive and high-quality health coverage through the expansion of specialized services, including the addition of multiple dialysis centers.

Minister Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi highlighted that the newly opened center, connected with Al-Adan Hospital, marks the first of several planned centers. This new facility complements the existing Muhammad Al-Khuzam Dialysis Center at Al-Adan Hospital, which has been serving approximately 500 patients since its opening in 2010.

Dr. Al-Awadhi revealed that two more dialysis centers are nearing completion. The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center (E), with a capacity of 20 beds to serve up to 120 patients, will cater to the residents of Sabah Al-Ahmad. Additionally, a dialysis center at the Motherhood and Childhood Hospital in Al-Adan Hospital, with 16 beds to accommodate up to 80 patients, is also set to open soon.

Emphasizing the Ministry's commitment to kidney patient care, Dr. Al-Awadhi noted that providing accessible health services, the latest equipment, and specialized staff are top priorities. This approach aims to improve the health system and enhance the quality of services provided to patients.

Dr. Bassam Al-Hilal, consultant in internal medicine and nephrology and head of the Muhammad Al-Khuzam Dialysis Center, stated that the new center meets high standards of quality, patient safety, and infection prevention. The single-floor facility includes 10 state-of-the-art dialysis machines, capable of serving 60 patients at full capacity, with future expansion plans in place.

Dr. Al-Hilal acknowledged the Ministry's efforts in equipping the center with advanced technology, which significantly enhances dialysis services and ensures the highest quality of care for patients. He expressed gratitude for the support and guidance from Minister Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi and Undersecretary Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, who were instrumental in launching the center's operations.
