Lorna Chirayu Rana and Chirayu Rana
NEW YORK, May 7: A former JPMorgan banker has refiled a bombshell lawsuit accusing a senior executive at the Wall Street giant of sexually assaulting, harassing and threatening him while allegedly using racially charged nicknames, including “brown boy” and “brownie,” according to court documents.
The banker, identified by the New York Post as Chirayu Rana, 35 , refiled the case Monday in New York County Supreme Court after an earlier version of the complaint was abruptly removed last week.
The lawsuit names Lorna Hajdini , an executive director at JPMorgan and Rana’s former supervisor, as the defendant. Hajdini and JPMorgan have forcefully denied the allegations.
Lawsuit Alleges Threats and Coercion
In the filing, Rana claims Hajdini used her senior position at the bank to pressure him into unwanted sexual acts and threatened to damage his career if he resisted.
“Ms. Hajdini leveraged her seniority over plaintiff to harass and coerce him to engage in non-consensual and humiliating sex acts with her — acts he literally begged her not to force him to engage in — through express threats that she would ruin his career if he did not submit,” the complaint states.
According to the lawsuit, Hajdini allegedly told Rana:
“If you don’t f--- me soon, I’m going to ruin you.”
The filing also alleges she said:
“Never forget I f---ing own you.”
Rana claims the alleged conduct was part of a broader pattern of workplace abuse that left him suffering severe emotional distress.
Hajdini Denies Allegations
Hajdini’s attorneys have rejected the accusations in the strongest terms, saying the claims are fabricated.
“Lorna continues to deny the allegations categorically,” her attorneys said in a statement provided to Newsweek by JPMorgan Chase. “She never dated this individual, never had a sexual or romantic encounter with him of any kind and never gave him any drugs. She maintains that his false claims are entirely fabricated and tarnishing her reputation.”
JPMorgan has also said it investigated Rana’s claims and found no merit to them.
“While numerous employees cooperated with the investigation, the complainant refused to participate and has declined to provide facts that would be central to support his allegations,” a JPMorgan spokesperson told Newsweek last week.
Anonymous Witnesses Back Parts of Rana’s Account
The refiled court papers include statements from two anonymous witnesses who claim they observed troubling interactions involving Hajdini and Rana.
One witness alleged that after a concert in September 2024, they were inside a New York City apartment when Hajdini entered the room naked and invited them to join her and Rana in the bedroom.
“Ms. Hajdini sat on the couch and lit a cigarette,” the witness said in an affirmation signed in July. “She then asked me to come to the bedroom with her and ‘join them.’ I told her no.”
The witness claimed Hajdini repeated the request before allegedly saying:
“You know, I own [redacted], so you’d better come join.”
According to the filing, the witness later heard Rana pleading with Hajdini to stop and leave.
“I heard him say, ‘No, no, no, you have to leave,’” the witness stated. “‘I’m not going to do this. Please stop.’”
The witness said Rana later described the alleged conduct as an ongoing problem and claimed Hajdini “constantly harassed him.”
Claims of Public Incidents
The lawsuit also includes allegations that Hajdini behaved inappropriately toward Rana in public settings.
One witness claimed Hajdini was “handsy” with Rana at a Brooklyn concert. A second anonymous witness alleged seeing Hajdini kissing Rana’s neck during the summer of 2024 and grabbing him.
That same witness also claimed to have seen Hajdini and Rana entering her apartment building in September 2024, with Hajdini allegedly appearing intoxicated.
“As I passed them, I heard Ms. Hajdini say something about ‘owning’ and ‘brownie’ that sounded like, ‘I own you Brownie,’ or something similar to that,” the witness said in the filing.
The witness said the remark was startling because it happened as they passed one another.
Rana Seeks to Proceed Anonymously
Rana’s attorney also filed a separate affirmation Monday asking that his client be allowed to proceed anonymously in the case.
The filing says Rana has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder by a mental health professional as a result of the alleged workplace abuse.
The case has already drawn widespread attention online. Rana’s claims went viral last week, with some social media users creating AI-generated videos referencing the allegations — a development that has added another layer of controversy to an already explosive legal fight.
For now, the case remains in its early stages, with Rana pressing his claims in court and Hajdini and JPMorgan denying wrongdoing. (Source Newsweek)
