Netanyahu Dismisses Constraints of US–Iran Deal as Quds Force Signals Expanded Resistance

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that any agreement between the United States and Iran would not limit Israel’s ability to act against Iran, even as he stressed he had not yet reviewed the full details of the reported deal.

Speaking at his first press conference since the announcement of the US–Iran understanding, Netanyahu reiterated that Iran must be prevented from obtaining nuclear weapons “with or without an agreement.” He said he had conveyed Israel’s position directly to U.S. President Donald Trump.

Netanyahu added that Israel’s recent military actions had already significantly degraded Iranian nuclear and missile-related infrastructure, claiming the operations created pressure on the Iranian leadership. He also suggested internal instability in Iran but said he could not predict when or if regime change might occur.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani said Hamas would “soon rebuild” and warned that Iran-aligned groups across the region retain undisclosed capabilities.

Qaani said Hezbollah in Lebanon remains a powerful force, describing its capabilities as only partially revealed, and added that strategic waterways such as the Bab al-Mandab Strait are part of what he called the “Resistance Front’s” leverage.

He warned the United States and Israel against further confrontation with Iran-aligned groups, saying they would face continued resistance across multiple fronts in the region.

The statements from both sides highlight ongoing tensions despite emerging diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran, with regional security dynamics remaining highly volatile.
