Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: The National Sports Arbitration Authority has declared the elections of the Kuwait Tennis Federation, which transpired last April, as null and void. The final arbitration decision, issued by the authority on Wednesday, following a sports dispute lodged by the former president of the federation, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber, against the current board of directors, deemed the electoral process marred by violations.

The arbitration chamber of the National Authority unanimously acknowledged the dispute formally and, in substance, declared the nullification of the invitation to the Federation’s Board of Directors meeting held on April 9, 2023, along with its repercussions. Notably, this includes the invalidation of the Federation’s electoral general assembly convened on April 27, 2023, and all decisions emanating from this assembly. This encompasses the decision to elect a new Board of Directors for the Federation for the upcoming term (2023-2027) and its associated implications.
