Mystery of forged KD 20 bills solved as police arrest a Kuwaiti

KUWAIT CITY, March 26: The Hawalli police recently raided an apartment in Nugra and arrested a Kuwaiti for forging local currency and seized from him KD 260 forged bank notes and, three color printers used in the trade, reports Al-Anba daily.

At the time of arrest police found also a woman, who was released after interrogating her and after police were convinced she was not involved in the trade. According to a security source, the arrest came after police received several complaints about counterfeit KD 20 banknotes.

The source said police investigations led them to the Kuwaiti. The forger said he bought the high resolution color printers several weeks ago and used for photocopying the banknotes in a professional manner. He added, he used KD 800 counterfeit notes to buy groceries. He added he had special papers enough to make KD 200,000 counterfeit banknotes
