My Kuwait ID Vehicle Registration Valid, Paper Booklet No Longer Required

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 29: Kuwait’s General Traffic Department has confirmed that vehicle registration documents available through the My Kuwait ID application are valid, and motorists are not required to carry the paper vehicle registration booklet inside their vehicles.

In an awareness notice published on its official account on X, the department also outlined the steps motorists must follow to renew vehicle registrations electronically through the government’s digital services.

The renewal process begins with obtaining third-party insurance. Motorists must access the relevant insurance website, select an insurance company, complete the payment electronically and print the insurance document after the transaction is completed.

The next step is to visit the technical inspection department to complete the required procedures, where applicable.

Motorists must then open the Sahl application, access the Ministry of Interior and General Traffic Department services, select the vehicle whose registration is to be renewed and pay the prescribed renewal fees to complete the process.

The department’s announcement is part of its efforts to raise awareness of digital government services and simplify vehicle registration procedures for motorists in Kuwait.
