RIYADH, July 8: The Muslim World League (MWL) has strongly condemned Iran's attacks on Saudi and Qatari vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, describing them as actions that violate religious values, international law and humanitarian principles while threatening regional security.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, MWL Secretary General Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa said Iran's actions were part of repeated "criminal practices that violate religious values, international and humanitarian laws and norms, and undermine efforts to restore security and stability in the region."
The organization called on Iran to immediately halt all actions that threaten regional security, international navigation and global energy supplies, warning that continued attacks could further destabilize the Gulf and disrupt vital maritime routes.
The Muslim World League also reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and Qatar, backing all measures taken by the two countries to safeguard their national security, protect their vessels and defend their strategic interests.
